Runnur Athletics
Runnur's online presence was very limited. So, they approached us with a vision of migrating from their brick-and-mortar store to become a direct-to-consumer online brand. We were
thrilled to help them execute their vision and breathe new life into their outdated analog experience.
We began the process by uncovering the challenges for their consumers and generally in their industry through interviews with SMEs and stakeholders. We also conducted an
environmental scan of direct-to-consumer platforms to ensure our solution met best practices for online commerce.
Our solution brings their athletic gear into an immersive and modern shopping experience.

Research
The discovery process for this complicated project was extensive. To begin, we created a detailed work plan with a process and a list of artifacts to create. We conducted
an Environmental Scan, interviewed SMEs, conducted Design Thinking workshops (HMWs and Ideation), and developed User Journeys and Personas. To prepare for the
design phase, we created a detailed user flow based on the results of this data and insights about how users would interact with a platform.
Design Process
Following discovery and preparing the visioning document, we put together a few iterations for the overall brand exploring themes presented in the findings. One of the themes
was the human element of the brand. Upon exploration, we decided to move away from a logo-style brand and landed on something that had a composite style. This visual
approach required diversity, so we prepared a series of compositions to be used depending on the target audience. Once these branded images were selected, we
applied the overall visual language to a design system and presentation template.
Conclusion
The Runnur project was a successful effort to migrate a brick-and-mortar store to a direct-to-consumer online brand, resulting in a 400% increase in online sales. Through a comprehensive process that included interviews with subject matter experts and stakeholders and an environmental scan of best practices for online commerce, we were able to identify the challenges faced by Runnur's consumers and develop a solution that brought their athletic gear into an immersive and modern shopping experience.
The resulting online platform was well received by users, who were able to easily browse and purchase Runnur's products from the comfort of their own homes. This project demonstrates the importance of conducting thorough research and applying UX best practices in the process of transitioning from a traditional to a digital business model.
